Ram Charan’s Newborn Twins Named Shiva Ram And Anveera Devi

Actor Chiranjeevi introduced his newborn grandchildren to the public on Thursday by sharing their first official pictures after a private family naming ceremony. The twins of Ram Charan and Upasana Konidela, born on January 31, 2026, have been named Shiva Ram Konidela and Anveera Devi Konidela.

Posting the announcement on social media, Chiranjeevi expressed happiness and gratitude while seeking blessings for the babies. He also explained the thought behind the names, highlighting their spiritual significance.

Meaning Behind The Names

According to Chiranjeevi, the name Shiva Ram combines two ideals. “Shiva” is inspired by his birth name, Shiva Shankara Vara Prasad, representing inner strength, serenity and spiritual depth. “Ram,” derived from Ram Charan’s name, symbolises righteousness, compassion and moral responsibility. Together, the name reflects a balance between strength and virtue.

For the baby girl, Anveera Devi was chosen to represent courage and divine protection. The family described the name as inspired by the blessings of Goddess Kanaka Durga and meant to convey fearlessness, grace and resilience.

Family Gathering

Photos from the ceremony showed a close-knit celebration attended by immediate family members. Ram Charan and Upasana were seen holding their newborns along with their elder daughter Klin Kaara. Grandparents from both families, including Chiranjeevi and his wife Surekha, as well as Shobana and Anil Kamineni, were present for the occasion.

Warm Response From Fans

Soon after the announcement, fans and well-wishers flooded social media with congratulatory messages. The naming ceremony marked the first formal introduction of the twins to the public following their birth earlier this month.

The Konidela family has kept the celebrations private, sharing only selected moments while thanking supporters for their wishes as the children begin their journey surrounded by family blessings.

Hyderabad Set to Compete With Mumbai, Chennai as Film Hub

Published

on

Hyderabad is poised to become a major centre for the Indian film industry, Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka said on Wednesday, outlining the government’s vision to strengthen cinema infrastructure and promote socially meaningful films.

Speaking at a meeting with jury members of the Gaddar Film Awards at the Secretariat, the Deputy CM stated that the state government is preparing a comprehensive master plan to support the growth of the film industry while encouraging cinema that conveys strong social messages.

He noted that traditional film hubs such as Mumbai, Kolkata and Chennai face space constraints, whereas Hyderabad offers significant room for expansion. The city, he said, has the potential to accommodate film industries from multiple languages and evolve into a nationally significant production hub.

The Deputy CM also highlighted the revival of the Gaddar Film Awards, describing it as an effort to recognise cinema that contributes to social awareness and cultural expression. Named after the iconic revolutionary poet and artist Gaddar, the awards aim to celebrate films that blend commercial success with meaningful storytelling.

Assuring transparency in the selection process, he said merit and talent would remain the sole criteria for choosing award winners. He appreciated the jury members for their role in identifying deserving candidates and emphasised that expert consultations were conducted while forming the panel through the Film Development Corporation.

The Deputy CM further stressed that government initiatives in the cultural sector must ultimately serve societal interests. He encouraged jury members to promote films that not only perform well at the box office but also deliver positive social messages and encourage constructive public engagement.
