Hyderabad Gets Safer: Crime Drops 15% as Police Boost Drones and Hotspot Patrols

Hyderabad has recorded a significant drop in overall crime this year, with Hyderabad Police reporting a nearly 15% decline in offences across the city. Authorities credit the improvement to strengthened policing under Operation Kavach, technology-driven surveillance, and more proactive law enforcement in crime-prone zones.

Police officials said intensified patrolling, strategic deployment in hotspots, better field coordination, and the widespread use of drones for monitoring helped deter criminal activities and improve response time. Continuous tracking of habitual offenders and focused enforcement reportedly contributed to the decline in major crime categories.

However, the police also acknowledged areas of concern. Certain sensitive crimes, including offences under the POCSO Act related to crimes against children, have seen an increase. Officials stated that these cases are being treated with priority, with dedicated teams handling investigations, awareness drives, and preventive measures.
